Chocolate Wonderland

Brussels, Belgium

This weekend I traveled to Brussels for 3 days via bus (only 2.5 hours away). We stayed at an airbnb 15 minutes from city center. The first night we arrived we went out for dinner and drinks. I got spaghetti jambon (ham) with a creamy sauce. The Belgians definitely like their cheese! The city center was absolutely beautiful and the streets are lined with chocolate shops and waffle shops! The next day we got up and went to an antique market that takes place every morning and runs until 3 pm! We saw the Manneken Pis, which is a famous statue of a little boy peeing on a fountain. We then walked to the Mont Des Arts which means "hill of the arts". It was a beautiful landscape with the city skyline in the background. We then visited the Royal Palace which was a short walk away from the Mont Des Arts. In the late afternoon we went to the Cantillon Brewery which was only 6 euros for a self-tour and 2 beer tastings. It was a really cool experience and definitely worth going to! We ended the night with dinner and went to a super cool bar called Delirium which has over 2000 different types of beer! The one thing that I did not like about Brussels was that the men are a little creepy so if you travel there make sure to always be in a group!

Brugge, Belgium

On Sunday we took a train from Brussels to Brugge (only an hour away)! From the minute we stepped into this quaint town I was in love. The city is so clean, small, and welcoming. There are tons of shops with chocolates, souvenirs, and baked goods. We explored the city by foot and admired the canals that ran through the city. There are also tons of markets with paintings, jewelry, pottery, and more. The houses surrounding the city are all shaped like gingerbread houses and stacked neatly side by side. We took a canal tour for 10 euros and got to see the city and learn about its history. This city was absolutely worth visiting, but I would not spend more than a day of half a day here. This is my favorite city that I have visited so far on this trip!
