After 3+ months of being in Maastricht, I've compiled a list of my favorite places to eat in Maastricht to help anyone looking for a good place to eat!
1. Cafe Local
This is a great place to grab lunch, located in the Markt. It has amazing soups and sandwiches for really cheap prices! I have had the French Onion Soup and Chicken Club Sandwich. This is definitely a place you have to try in Maastricht
2. Dadawan
Dadawan is located near the train station across the river. However, its worth the hike because the food is amazing! They have stone bowls and poke bowls and super cheap prices! I have had the Dadawan Stone Bowl and loved every bite.
3. Fresh Cooked
If you're looking for a healthy lunch, this is your place. Fresh Cooked has great salads, soups, and sandwiches that are all freshly made. I have had the couscous salad and loved it. The prices are reasonable and everything comes with a fresh piece of bread!
4. Clichee
Clichee is a really great place to go for drinks and appetizers! It is such a cute cafe and has the best drinks. Sit outside and enjoy the fresh air!
5. Bisschopsmolen
This place is home to the oldest running watermill in Maastricht! They sell amazing pieces of Vlaai which is a pie with a pastry filling. If you don't go there to eat, at least stop by to see the watermill. But I promise once you smell the freshly baked Vlaai, you won't be able to resist!
6. Piano B
If you're craving a pizza, skip Dominos and order from Piano B. This has freshly cooked pizza for super cheap prices. You can get all different types of toppings or enjoy a simple Margherita pizza like this one! Super student friendly, but only for take-out.
7. Pinky
Every good night out should end with a dessert and Pinky is the perfect place for this. There are multiple ones throughout the city that each have amazing gelato, waffles, and macaroons. I would suggest getting the Maastricht gelato!
